Obituary

Jacqueline 'Jackie' Annette Spaulding Brinkerhoff entered heaven on December 13, 2014. A memorial service will be held for Jackie on at 3pm Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Lohman's Funeral Home, 733 W. Granada Blvd., in Ormond Beach.

Jackie was born in Huntington, WV on November 4th, 1934. She graduated from Marshall University Teachers College with her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1956. She graduated from the Presbyterian School of Christian Education in 1959 with her Master's degree.

Jackie and her husband, the Reverend Austin 'Blake' Brinkerhoff (1934-2002), moved to Daytona Beach in 1966 where Blake was the pastor of Highlands Presbyterian Church. A lifelong educator, Jackie taught at Westside Elementary until her retirement in 1992. She is fondly remembered by students and colleagues as a deeply committed Christian who shared her love and talent for bringing out the best in everyone who knew her. In addition to her career as a teacher, Jackie was very committed to her community and served on the Planning Board for the City of Daytona Beach in the 1980's. Students, friends, colleagues, church members, and family remember her for her compassion, sacrificial giving of her talent, time, resources, and love.

Jackie is survived by her sons and their families: Charles Edward Brinkerhoff, his sons, Jared and Logan, and his daughter, Ashleigh; Austin Blake Brinkerhoff, his wife, Beth, and their daughters, Bobbie Ann and Mary Beth; and Louis Robert Brinkerhoff, his wife, Mandy, and their children, Madison and Hunter. She is also survived by two of her sisters, Therese Tweel and Suzanne High.

In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the Christ United Fellowship Building Fund, 1520 E. Voorhis Ave., DeLand, FL 32724. Christ United Fellowship was Jackie's church family for the last two years where she blessed all who came in contact with her. Thank you.
