Deland native Jack Murray, 62, passed away April 30, 2018, at Florida Hospital Hospice in Orange City, after a prolonged illness. Jack was the son of Harold and Jeannette Murray and brother to Douglas and Andrew Murray, all deceased. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Calvin Sanson of Lake Mary, as well as nieces and nephews.

A 1973 graduate of Deland High School, Jack became a master carpenter and contractor. With his father, he was owner/partner of Murray and Sons, LLC, a marine construction company. He also was a commercial fisherman, raised cattle and fostered many animals. Jack enjoyed primitive weapon hunting, particularly bows, and was an avid deer hunter. He enjoyed a good laugh and many close friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday at Lohman Funeral Home Deland, 935 East New York Ave. from 5:00 -8:00 pm. Services will be held at at the  Funeral Home in Deland on Friday, May 04, 2018 at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow after the service.
