Obituary

Jack Charles Munson age 86 of DeLeon Springs formerly of Daytona Beach passed away in his home surrounded by those he loves on Monday October 26 2011. A funeral service in his honor will be held at 11:30 AM. Tuesday Nov. 1 at the Daytona Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home followed by an interment at Daytona Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 PM Monday Oct. 31 at the Deland Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home.

Jack was born in Watertown New York to Claude and Margaret Munson he was a US Army Veteran of the WWII and dedicated his life's work serving Volusia County and his community 20 years as a Daytona Beach Police Officer Patrol Officer Motor Cycle Officer and a Detective reaching the title of Sergeant before joining the Volusia County Sheriff's Department until his retirement 10 years later. Jack was good-humored outgoing gentleman an avid fisherman and recipient of the Evan's Trophy in Lawn Bowling. He was a member of the VFW and the Deland Lawn Bowling Club a loving devoted husband father and grandfather.

His parents and sibling preceded him in death and he leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years: Martha Munson two daughters: June Munson and Toni Yarborough a grandson Chris (Tassie) Masters a great granddaughter Brionna his faithful companion Nala and many loving nieces nephews and extended family.
