IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jack Lynwood
Lewis
November 8, 1946 – March 14, 2025
Jack Lynwood Lewis
It is with great sadness that the family of Jack Lynwood Lewis, 78, announces his passing on Friday, March 14, 2025. He passed away peacefully at Halifax Hospice Care Center in Orange City, surrounded by family, after a long battle with Multiple Myeloma and Heart Disease.
Jack was born on November 8, 1946, in Daytona Beach, Florida, to the late E. Louise (Norris) English and the late Jack R. Lewis.
Jack had a powerful will, determination, and a strong work ethic. Jack managed a Wareco gas station for over twenty-seven years. He started and owned Happy Jack's restaurant for approximately seven years before he sold it. Before retiring, he worked at Florida Hospital, now known as AdventHealth, for twenty-three years. He was very hard-working, took pride in all he did, and passed his work ethic to his children.
Jack loved to live life to the fullest. During his lifetime, he loved many things, including golfing, traveling, riding his Harley, boating, fishing, bowling, and playing cards, particularly poker. He was also a fantastic pool player. He loved going to the Orlando Magic games, the Tampa Bay Rays, and NASCAR. Most of all, he loved music. He was self-taught on the guitar, and nothing made him happier than being surrounded by family and friends playing guitars and singing.
Jack is survived by his children, Brenda L. Wells (Tony), Jack R. Lewis (Karen), Krista K. Cornwell (Bobby), and S. Scott Rachal (Jessica), and grandchildren Arley Gianetti (Jason), Chad Wells, Kelsea Lewis, Aleah Kirby, Kenley Kirby, Landon Cornwell, Chase Rachal (Victoria), Tanner Rachal (Kayla) and Parker Rachal, He is also survived by his sister Linda L. Halleran, brother Gary Lewis (Heidi), half siblings, Robert English (Debbie) Sandy Desharnais (Paul) and Jeff English, and by six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A private gathering will be held for the family at a later date.
