Jack M. Leopard 91 of Orange City FL. passed away on December 23 2010.

Born in Flint Michigan January 30 1919 he was the son of Edward and Laura (Brown) Leopard. Jack married Betty Gayle McNorton on March 6 1943. After the death of his first wife Jack re-married Helen Mae Watson Shockey.

He earned his bachelor's degree in zoology from Michigan State University. He was a graduate of The University of Michigan Medical School in 1943. He interned at Cleveland City Hospital and did his surgery residency at the University of Kansas. He began his private practice in Alpena Michigan in 1948. Jack practiced in Alpena where he was a partner in the Medical Arts Clinic until 1988 except for the two years in which he was the Surgeon General of March Air Force Base Riverside California. He maintained a residence in Alpena Michigan from 1948 until 2002 when he made his permanent residence in Orange City Florida.

An excellent musician he earned his bachelor's degree on a marching band scholarship. He played in a Polish dance band to support himself through medical school and played in the Alpena Civic Orchestra. A natural athlete he played baseball and hockey; boxed and skied; and golfed into his late 80s. He played masters level bridge.

Jack was a beloved father to Robert (Annette) Connie Becky and Thomas Leopard. Beloved grandfather of Damian (Kathleen) Leopard Mary (Mike) Steinmetz Jessica (Gene) Taber Dixon Allison (Mike) Taber McCullough Christopher Taber Andrew Leopard Amanda Leopard. Great grandchildren Matthew Taber Ella Dixon Lauren Andrew Katherine and Madelyn McCullough; Olivia and Austin Leopard; Annaliese Leopard and Merlin Kline; and Rebecca and Katherine Steinmetz.

He was predeceased by his first wife Betty his second wife Helen and by his daughter Rebecca Sue Leopard.

A memorial service for friends and family in Florida will be held Tuesday January 4 2011 at 2 PM at John Knox Village in Orange City FL. A memorial service will be held in Alpena Michigan summer 2011. Donations may be made to the Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
