Jack Gronwoldt died in his home on Friday, March 31st in Palm Coast, Florida. He was 88 years young.
Jack was born on March 27 1929 in Queens, NY to his parents, Herman and Marion. He graduated from Richmond Hill High School and then joined the Air Force. He was honorably discharged after 4 years with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Jack went on to build a career with IBM that spanned 35 years. On February 20, 1970 he married Sue Wholley in White Plains, NY. In 1990 they moved to Palm Coast Florida after spending the majority of their lives in the Northeast and Texas.
Jack Gronwoldt was an avid golfer who played whenever he got the chance. Some of his fondest memories was meeting Jack Nicholas and his 2 Holes in One.
Jack is survived by his wife Sue, his six children Ellen (Dan), Bill (Kim), Linda (Nancy), Donna (Emil), Scott (Nancy) and Kim (Shawn), Pop's 9 grandchildren Jaclyn (Tyler), Samantha, Dana, Alyssa, Erika (Doug), Liz, James, Emily and Liam, his 3 great grandchildren Adaline, Adian and Arlan.
Jack will be memorialized at Lohman Funeral Home, Palm Coast on Wednesday April 5, 2017 from 10:00 to 12:00, with a service at !2:00pm with Rev. Wiley Lowe officiating. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jack's life. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Heart Association in memory of Jack Gronwoldt.
A reception for Jack will be held at the family home, Catered by his second kitchen, Dominic's Restaurant following the service.
