Irvin B. Slayton, Jr., age 83, born in Virginia, now a resident of Daytona beach Florida, passed away Sun. Dec. 1st at Halifax Hospice in Ormond Beach, Florida.  He received his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech and then his Masters in Electrical Engineering from FIT in Melbourne Florida. In 1980, he became a Professional Engineer of which he was very proud. Bud worked for the Harris Corporation, a company where he was highly regarded, in Palm Bay, Florida for over 40 years. He loved to run and ride his mountain bicycle. His love of travel took him to many exciting and off the track locations all over the world.

He was dearly loved by his entire family to whom he was deeply devoted.  Beloved husband of Christine (Christie) (nee Lehnert), loving father of Kristyan Slayton-Hall (Carter), Joyce Slayton-Starke (Ed), Shayna Marie Slayton, Tara Elyse Slayton-Goossens (Zak). Grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.  Bud was also dearly loved by his sister in law, 3 nieces, a nephew and his mother in law.  He was proceeded in death by his parents, Eula Mae (nee Crane) and Irvin B. Slayton, Senior.  Forever in our hearts Bud, Dad and Pappa Bud.  Your legend will live through each of us.  ON ON, ON UP.
