Irma (Abels) Cotton of Port Orange Florida and formerly of Baltimore Maryland passed away Friday February 27th 2009 at the Good Samaritan Home. She had been ill since December. She is survived by her daughter Donna Lee Cotton of Port Orange and her three sons William Cotton III of Baltimore Dennis Cotton of West Virginia and Gary Cotton of New Jersey. She is also survived by two sisters Betty List and Marjorie Freeland and one brother Orem Abels many grand children and great grandchildren. Her husband William to whom she was married for many years preceded her in death as did her sisters Adele Field Mildred Bateman and her brother Elmer (Duke) Abels.Irma's Baltimore friends will remember her devotion to her family and her expertise in the bowling lanes. In Florida Irma loved her life and her many friends in La Costa Village. Neighbors will remember fondly her walks with the dogs and her sense of humor. She was never too busy or in to much of a hurry to stop in and chat. Although she was a tiny woman she had a large presence and will be missed very much. The family is planning a memorial service to be held in Baltimore later this spring. Details will be forthcoming.
