Irene Joan Westhoff was born to Slovak immigrants on December 14, 1928. Irene of Port Orange, Florida formerly of North Babylon, New York, passed away quietly at the age of 95 on October 9th, 2024. Irene left her childhood home in Bridgeport, Connecticut to pursue a career as an Airline Stewardess for American Airlines. At the time she lived in Queens, New York where she met and married her husband, Robert Joseph Westhoff. They were married for 49 years. In 1990, she moved from Long Island, New York to Port Orange, Florida.

Irene was a businesswoman who worked for both Good Samaritan Hospital O.R. and Suffolk Orthopaedic Associates. She was a member of the Epiphany Council of Catholic Women, Epiphany Knit and Crochet Group, and the L.I. Club. Irene was a very social person who was going to the gym into her late eighties. She loved to read and was well traveled. Irene was a frequent volunteer at Catholic Church of the Epiphany in Port Orange. She loved to spend time with her Family and friends and is survived by her three children, John Westhoff (Donna), Mary Kay Gleason (Donald), and James Westhoff (Brenda). She is grandmother to Casey Westhoff, Kaitlyn Quinn (Michael), Michael Gleason (Christina) and great grandmother to Makenna Quinn and Brayden Quinn.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on October 16th at Lohman Funeral Home, 1201 Dunlawton Avenue, Port Orange from 2:00 - 4:00 and from 6:00 - 8:00. A mass will be held on October 17th at 11:00 at Catholic Church of the Epiphany, 201 Lafayette Street, Port Orange where she was a member for over 30 years. Burial will take place at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell on October 18th at 11:30.
