Irene Pearce 88 of Port Orange entered into eternal rest at 6:25 a.m. Wednesday January 28 2009 at Hospice of Volusia/Flagler in Port Orange.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday February 6 2009 at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange with family greeting one hour before service. Family has requested that memorials be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler 3800 Woodbriar Trail Port Orange FL 32129
Irene was born January 4 1921 in Hellertown PA; the daughter of Peter and Julia (Holanczer) Coaches. She was united in marriage to Courtland Pearce on August 23 1953; he preceded her in death on January 27 1959. Irene was a retired florist of 42 years; she worked and owned Boulevard Florist/Irene's Gifts and also worked in the family business Coaches Florist. She moved to Florida in March 1985. She was a member of the Eastern Star Order #163 - Calypso Chapter and enjoyed bowling cooking and baking and watching soap operas.
Survivors include daughter Pat (Greg) Hartzell of Port Orange son Bill (Vicki) Pearce of Allentown PA daughter Jackie (Harry) Landis of Nazareth PA sister Elsie Jacoby of Center Valley PA six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by grandson Billy and sister Julia Belcak.
