Irene Ouellette 96 passed away on May 21ST 2009. A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday May 26th from 5-7 pm at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona. A mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday May 27th at 9:00 am at the Basilica of St. Paul (317 Mulally St.) in Daytona Beach.
Irene was born on October 27 1912 to Oscar and Nezisie Delorme in Sherbrook Quebec Canada. She was married to Leo Ouellette for 53 years. He predeceased her in 1994. Also predeceasing Irene were her sister Therese Gregoire and brother Herve Delorme.
Irene moved from Canada to Connecticut in 1942 where she studied and worked in ceramics and then moved to Florida in 1970. She liked music theater and movies and was very dedicated to Our Blessed Mother and Saint Anthony who helped her find things she'd misplace.
Irene is survived by her nieces and nephews: Marian Iglesia with whom Irene lived with for the past several years; Dr. Celine Delorme Jacques Delorme Aurele Gregoire Lise (Serge) Founier Jovette (Lucien) Gregoire Shirley (Douglas) Horner Maurice (Claudette) Gregoire Marie Gregoire and Francine (Emmanuel) Sapina.
