She departed this world at the age of 97, surrounded by the love of her family and friends, on September 16, 2023. Born December 22, 1925, Irene was a beacon of love and kindness throughout her long and fulfilling life. She was reunited in eternal peace with her beloved husband William A. Brogan Jr., granddaughter Mary Yasika, grandson Nicolas Yasika, parents Stanislaw and Stanislawa Antczak, sisters Stanislawa Kulaga and Helene Antczak, brother Ugene Antczak, son-in-law, and daughter-in-law who had preceded her. Irene Brogan was a woman of deep faith, whose unwavering devotion to her spirituality guided her every step. Her life was a testament to the power of love and compassion. She was a cherished matriarch, adored by her children, Freddie, Margaret, Bianca (James), Katie, James (Sarah), Marylee (Paul), grandchildren, Sharon (Percy), Tracy, Vickie (Lee), Richard, Sarah (Brian), Dwayne (Gabby), James (Spring), Kyle, Megan (Greg), Nicole (Danny), Tyler, Danny, Justen, 29 great-grandchildren, and an extensive circle of friends and family. Her home was a place of warmth and acceptance, where all were welcome, and where laughter and love abounded. For 28 years, Irene Brogan dedicated herself to her work at the News Journal, where her professionalism, diligence, and warm heart earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues. Her commitment to truth and storytelling was a reflection of her character, and she made a lasting impact on the field of journalism. Irene Brogan's legacy of love, faith and dedication will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Her memory will be cherished forever, and the lessons she taught us about kindness, faith, and family will be passed down through generations.

A celebration of Irene Brogan's life will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Basilica of Saint Paul, 317 Mullally St., Daytona Beach, Florida 32114.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in her honor, continuing her legacy of love and compassion. As we say goodbye to this remarkable woman, let us remember her with smiles, for her life was a blessing to us all, and her memory will forever shine as a beacon of love in our hearts.
