Irene Elizabeth Beasley (Mamie) 86 of Daytona Beach passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Monday August 2 2010. She was born January 31 1924 in Brentford England to the late Joseph and Bessie Gibbons. Irene was an English war bride who married Andrew Beasley a U.S. Air Force officer.
The family moved to the United States with their child and settled in Detroit Michigan. In 1999 she moved to Daytona Beach to live with her daughter Carole and son-in-law.
Irene was known as "Mamie" and "GG". She was a loving mother sister grandmother great grandmother and true friend. You could always find "Mamie" at Larry's Giant Subs pleasing customers with her witty humor and smile until she was no longer able. Irene was blessed with so many wonderful friends and family. She was humble and always so appreciative. Irene will be greatly missed and always remembered.
She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Bessie Gibbons; husband Andrew Beasley and son-in-law Roscoe Long.
Survivors include her daughter Carole Long who was dedicated and ever present; sisters Margaret Doris and Lillian; grandsons Brian (Jamie) Long Matthew (Dawn) Long; granddaughter Michele (Jeff) Glazier great grandchildren Madison Matthew Cole Morgan and Jack London; many wonderful nieces nephews and friends that loved her dearly.
A reception to celebrate Irene's life will be held at a later date.
