Ila Dawn Gressang passed away peacefully on Sept. 30, 2013. Dawn is survived by her sons, Scott (Catriona) Parker and Kevin Parker; by her grandchildren, Kyle, Andrea, Alyssa, and Felicia; by her sisters, Pam Crowell, Jacque Vowell, and Bonnie (Michael) Morrison; by her brother, Richard (Linda) Crowell; and by her nieces and nephews, Thomas, Casey, Kye, Cassie, Paul, Erin, Alison, Laura, Beth, and Rick Jr. Dawn is predeceased by her parents, Ila and Dick Crowell, formerly of New Jersey, Florida and the Canal Zone; by her husband, Daniel Gressang; and by her niece, Jennifer.

Dawn attended Neptune High School in New Jersey, but graduated from Balboa High School in the Panama Canal Zone in 1955. In 1959, she graduated from Ann May School of Nursing at Fitkin Hospital, which is now known as the Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune, N.J. Dawn was previously married to Howard Parker, with whom she had her two sons, Scott and Kevin. Dawn later married Major Daniel Gressang, who she knew from her days at Balboa High. The couple had a 10 wonderful years together before Dan passed away from heart problems in November 2006.

Dawn was a very caring person with a great sense of humor. She loved to dance, go to concerts, bike ride, travel, and arrange flowers. Dawn sends this special note to Mel Wethered, who had lived with her for four years and took great care of her during her illness: "Thank you, my love."
