Ignatius Mongiovi age 82 of Daytona Beach Shores passed away quietly in his home on Friday August 14 2009. A graveside service and Military Honors in his honor will take place Monday August 17 2009; 11:00 AM at Daytona Memorial Park Daytona Beach with Fr. Phil Daly officiating. A memorial mass will be held Tuesday August 18 2009; 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes 201 University Blvd. Daytona Beach.

"Sam" was born in Buffalo New York to Balthosar and Josephine Mongiovi he was a US Army veteran of WWII and dedicated his talents as a property owner. He came to the Daytona Beach area 52 years ago and was part owner/operator of the Beacon By the Sea Motel. He was a proud member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and a devoted husband father brother and son. He enjoyed doing carpentry work gardening and fishing and will best be remembered for his jovial smile.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 55 years; Joan Mongiovi a son; Roy Joseph Mongiovi Atlanta GA a brother Santo Mongiovi and a sister Coreen Jelso.
