Hyacinth Maud Elliot(Peart) was born 10/16/1921 to the late Sargent Luther Pearlt and Lydia Ann Peart (Headly) in Montego Bay, Jamaica, West Indies. Hyacinth passed away at the grand age of 101 on 02/25/2023 at the Halifax Health- Hospice Care Center in Ormond Beach, Florida.
Prior to coming to the United States in 1948 she owned and operated a millinery business for seven years in Kingston, Jamaica. According to her sister long after she left Jamaica they were still finding money stuffed in her sewing machine.
Hyacinth lived a long an wonderful life of travel, hard work, art, sewing tailoring, caregiving and gardening. As a child of GOD family and friends experienced her spiritual gifts. She always managed to leave a lasting impact to all she met with a smile, touch, word or in deeds. Her motto was by giving to others one receives more in blessings every day.
Mrs. Elliot worked as a certified Nursing assistant for over 40 yrs. in New York, Connecticut, and Florida. As a former employee of Hartford Hospital she retired after 24yrs of service. She possessed a unique way of handling patients and family in crisis whether in ER, cancer unit, nursing home, med/surgical floor, ambulance with dignity and respect. She also worked as a Paraprofessional for 13 yrs in the Hartford Public Schol System. It was not unusual for her to work 2-3 jobs at time in order to take an early retirement. in 1982. She built her own home (s) a resident of Palm Coast for 43 yrs.
Hyacinth leaes her daughter, Barbara Elliot Lawrence of Palm Coast, Florida, great granddaughter Juliet Noel Lawrence of Columbus, Ohio, Niece Diane Cook of Queens, New York, family and friends. She joins in death her sister Daisy Felicia Thomas, former husband Glenwrick Elliott; son, Glenwrick Anthony Elliott and grandson Romero Elliott Lawrence.
