Howard Roy Haire 82 of Ormond Beach FL passed away at Hospice Care Center Port Orange on March 25th. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday April 2nd at 1:00 pm at St. Luke's United Methodist Church at Windermere in Orlando 4851 S. Apopka-Vineland Road Orlando FL. He owned and operated numerous business including three Funeral Homes. He was the owner of Tinderbox Pipe and Tobacco Store Flowerama Quarterman-Haire Funeral Home in Daytona Beach and along with the Lohman's opened Volusia Memorial Funeral Home. He was the youngest Past Master at Elroy Masonic Lodge # 202; he was also a member of the Daytona Beach Kiwanis Club. He attended the University of Illinois on a baseball scholarship and played the drums in the UI Marching Band. He was a graduate of the Milwaukee School of Mortuary Science. He was an avid golfer winning fourteen club championships and played in sixteen father and son tournaments. He attended the Masters at Augusta National for twenty plus years. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Peggy T. Haire Ormond Beach two daughters Sally (John) Mattson Mt. Airy MD and Kathleen (Nick) Buranych Warrenton VA two sons Jeff (Debra) Haire Orlando FL and David Haire Windermere FL as well as seven grandchildren.
Memorial Donations may be made in his memory to St. Luke's United Methodist Church in support of underprivileged children's sports.
