Horace Joseph Cooke "Joe" to his friends and family passed from this life on January 12 2009. Joe a WWII vet HVAC mechanic and former lab technician of refrigeration at Daytona Beach Community College was born in Shelby Ohio on October 14 1917 to Joseph Cooke and Mabel Webb Cooke. He was proud of his time in the U.S. Navy serving in the WWII Pacific Theater. He moved to the Daytona Beach area with his family in 1959. Joe loved his bluegrass music and Hampton's Fried Chicken where he started out installing their air conditioning and became one of their most loyal patrons. He is survived by his wife of 70 years Ila Hawk Cooke; his daughter Virginia Baldridge of Daytona Beach; his son Reginald Cooke of Cartersville Georgia; his daughter June Mundell of Edgewater; his daughter Eileen Duffy of Richmond California; and his daughter Linda Holley of Holly Hill; survived by 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
