Dr. Honorio Oliva Sia

A Mass of Christian Burial for Dr. Honorio O. Sia, 87, of Daytona Beach, FL, who entered into Eternal Rest on Pentecost Sunday, June 8, 2025, will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at 8:30am at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 4675 Clyde Morris Boulevard, Port Orange, FL 32129. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 16, 2025 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona, 1423 Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beach, FL 32114.

Born on November 21, 1937, in Baleno, Masbate, Philippines, to Antonio and Josefa Sia (both deceased), Honorio immigrated to Cleveland, Ohio, from the Philippines to begin his medical career. Dr. Sia's professionalism and determination were shaped by his mother, an educator and entrepreneur of a local store who raised her children while helping to educate her community.

Honorio was a Board-Certified Surgeon and Family Practice Physician who earned his medical degree from Southwestern University in Cebu, Philippines, in 1965. He opened his private medical practice in 1980 and started working at Daytona's first walk in clinic in 1985. Dr. Sia was a consultant for multiple pharmaceutical companies and a member of the American Academy of General Physicians and the Volusia County Medical Society. He was also a proud Daytona Beach resident for over 45 years and one could often find him in his garden planting new fruits and vegetables. Dr. Sia was also an avid Florida Gator and Orlando Magic fan but spent the majority of his retirement cheering on his
children and grandchildren's activities.

Dr. Sia was preceded in death by his sister, Nieva O. Sia, R.N., his brother, Renato Sia and brother-in-law Domingo Reniva. He is survived by his beloved wife, Amelia, and his four children: Annaliza Sakala (Derek Sakala), Aileen Eaves (Chad Eaves), Henry Sia (Marnellie Maravilla), and Abegayle Goldblatt (Dr. David Goldblatt). He also leaves behind his four cherished grandsons: Cruz Campos, Maximus Sakala, Hudson Sia, and Mason Sia. Honorio is also survived by his brothers, Dr. Edwin Sia (Lorna) and Fermato Sia; his sisters, Alice Ng (Rosario), Nilda Buntowtook (Montein), Celina Reniva, Edesa Tabora (Dondi), and Regina Lim (Samuel).

Honorio Sia was a devoted member of Our Lady of Hope whose life was deeply rooted in his Catholic faith. He was active in the church ministry as an usher, eucharistic minister, and always made time to attend Mass. Donations to Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church in honor of Dr. Honorio Sia may be made during the Mass of Christian Burial. Friends may send condolences at www.LohmanFuneralHomes.com. Arrangements are under the careful supervision of Lohman Funeral Home Daytona.

At Dr. Sia's request, please do not wear black as he wanted his life celebrated in color.
