Homer C. Mullins 96 passed away on Tuesday April 12 2011 after a long and happy life.

A celebration of his life will be held on Monday April 18 2011 10am at Community United Methodist Church 616 Harvey Ave Daytona Beach officiated by his niece's husband Dr. Robert Moorehead.

Homer was born in Pound Virginia on March 8 1915 to Katie Branham Mullins and Marshall Benton (Johnce) Mullins. He served in combat in the United States Army in the Philippines during World War II. Homer was also a lifelong member of The Masons and past member to Masonic Lodges # 164 and # 856.

He and his wife Vivian and children moved to Daytona Beach in 1952.The front porch of his home became the meeting place for neighbors and friends known and unknown. He was lovingly nick-named the "Mayor of Harvey Ave". Homer never met a stranger accepted everyone no matter their station in life offering encouragement and sharing his love of life with all. He was a positive influence on everyone he met coaxing the best out of each of them. Homer was also known for his sense of humor and peaceful disposition.

Homer is pre-deceased by his beloved wife of 59 years Vivian Fulton Mullins and once again they are together.

He is survived by his children; Sally Bunzmann (Hal) Gainesville FL Brent (LaVon) Mullins Port Orange FL grandsons Paul (Jean) Brachhold Gainesville FL Mark (Jackie) Brachhold Gainesville FL Aaron (Kelly) Mullins Orlando FL and great- granddaughter Brianna O'Bannon Gainesville FL.
