A Memorial Service will be held for Hilda M. Dew age 80 of Dougherty Street New Smyrna Beach FL on Thursday June 15 2006 at 10:00 AM at the V.F.W. Post # 4250 2350 Sunset Drive New Smyrna Beach FL. Jean Myers Chaplain of the Ladies Auxiliary Post # 4250 will officiate. Mrs. Dew passed away on June 11 2006 at her home.
She was born on August 2 1925 in Shirley Massachusetts. Hilda was a Nurse?s Aide and loved to work with people. She was a real people person. She also loved arts and crafts the ocean and swimming. Hilda was a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post # 4250 for 4 years. She was a Baptist. On May 6 1945 she married Maurice Dew and lived together happily for 61 years. They retired to Florida from Massachusetts in 1989. Even after retiring Hilda worked with families in need as a nurse?s aide here in Florida.
She is survived by her loving husband Maurice; a son Jim Karpan Christine and their 2 sons Curtis & Steven Karpan of Newark CA. 2 daughters; Debbie Larry King and their 4 children Larry Jr. Kevin Bryan and Cindy Eric Martineau of Shirley MA. And Charlotte Skevington of Berlin NJ and her daughter Kimberly Rick Valdivieso with their 2 children all of Ftn. Hills AZ. Hilda was predeceased by a son Maurice R. Dew Jr. in 2003.
