Hertha E. Spencer age 99 passed away peacefully on Sunday November 1 2009 at the Hospice Care Center of Port Orange. A family memorial in her honor will be conducted at Hospice Care Center of Port Orange. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Park in Pittsburgh PA
Born in Hamburg Germany Hertha moved to this area from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania in 1967. She was a published poet also active in the philanthropic organization The Port Orange Pilot Club and enjoyed reading to the children in local schools. She was predeceased by husbands; William F. Monning Frank Harding and Vern Spencer and a daughter; Linda Knefelkamp. She leaves behind to cherish her memory two children and their spouses Bill and Linda Monning of Port Orange FL who provided for her care and Jane and Roger Knefelkamp Pittsburgh PA a sister: Edith Becker Seminole FL 7 grandchildren 8 great grandchildren 2 great great grandchildren and her beloved cat Boobie.
