Herman "Hermie" Buie 89 died February 28 2007 in Ormond Beach FL surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Buie moved to Ormond Beach in 1987 from Akron Ohio where he retired after 39 years as a lab technician with PPG Industries. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the 91st Infantry where he received 3 Purple Hearts 2 Silver Stars and a battlefield commission. Herm enjoyed helping others bowling listening to music and drinking beer! He was a life member of the American Legion and many other veteran organizations. Survivors include his wife of 20 years Marie Linger Buie of Ormond Beach; son Dan (Cheryl) Buie of Akron OH; daughter Karen (Gary) Hulsey of St. George UT; step daughter Debbie (Mark) Kendel of Akron OH; "daughter -at - heart" Sue (George) Kisha of Orlando FL; grandsons Lance (Amy) Hulsey and Jacob Kendel; granddaughters Danielle Buie and Melissa Sebastian and 2 great grandchildren.
In lieu of funeral there will be a celebration of Herman's life in Akron OH at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association 555 W. Granada Blvd. #A-1 Ormond Beach FL 32174 and/or the American Cancer Society 1620 S. Clyde Morris Blvd. Daytona Beach FL 32119.
