Dr. Herbert George McGibbeny, 92, of Palm Coast passed away April 7, 2014. A Memorial Service in his honor will be held Friday, April 11, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church, 1225 Royal Palms Parkway, Palm Coast, FL 32137. The interment at Daytona Memorial Park will be private for the family.
Herbert proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp during WWII. Herbert earned his Doctorate and was the College Administrator, CEO (Campus Executive Officer), for Penn State University, Allegheny Campus in Pittsburgh, PA. He was a respected teacher and author. He also was a faithful Church Elder at Grace Presbyterian.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 69 years Nida, by his daughter Rebecca Barrett (husband Charles), by his brother Reid, by his sister Norma Helbig, and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Florida Hospital HospiceCare or Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, or to Grace Presbyterian Church.
