Funeral service for Mr. Herbert J. Bell age 85 of Daytona Beach will be held on Saturday January 20th at 5:00 PM in the chapel of Baggett & Summers Funeral Home 736 S. Beach St Daytona Beach with Reverend Paul Kamide officiating. His family will receive friends from 5:00 PM till 7:00 PM on Friday January 19th. Mr. Bell passed away Tuesday Jan. 15th at the Olds Hall Good Samaritan Center. Herbert was born December 8 1921 in Bronx NY to the late Joseph and Frances Bell. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp the day after Pearl Harbor and was a tail gunner in a B-17 during WWII. He was an avid baseball player in his youth and his passion was baseball and coaching baseball. He collected stamps and coins loved his family and helping people. Herbert was a member of the Church of Epiphany in Port Orange. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years Frances; his two sons Raymond & Roger Bell; his two brothers William & Robert Bell and his sister Frances Roth. Left to cherish his memory are 4 sons Herbert (Linda) Steven (Nancy) Thomas and Doug (Lisa) Bell; 1 daughter Barbara (Jim) Serpa and 9 grandchildren.
