Henry Arthur Shepherd of Palm Coast, Florida passed away on March 6th, 2021 at the age of 83. Henry died peacefully at home with his devoted wife of 61 years by his side.

Henry was born in Guyana, South America on December 27th, 1937. He was the only son of Henry .A. Shepherd and Irene Shepherd née Forde. In 1967, he immigrated to the USA with his wife Yvonne and three children (Marc, Nigel & Yonette). While working and raising a family, he attended college and managed to earn his MBA. Henry was a firm believer in education and made sure that all three of his children completed college with one of them attending law school.

After living in the New York area for many years, he and his wife came to Palm Coast over 30 years ago. Henry deeply appreciated the warm weather and lifestyle of Palm Coast. He was the President of the Afro-American Caribbean Heritage Organization (ACHO) for many years, and he enjoyed being a member of the domino club. As you watched him play dominoes, if you were not impressed with his playing skills, you had to be impressed by the force in which he slammed the dominoes on the table.

Henry was a member of Palm Coast United Methodist Church.

He was very family oriented and frequently spoke of his love for his wife Yvonne, his three children, five grandchildren and his great grand who was the apple of his eye, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne, children Marc, Nigel, and Yonette. Grandchildren Caitlyn, Korin, Nicole, Ryan (Consuelo), Christian, and Great-granddaughter Jaelyn. Sisters, Joyce, and Barbara, three brothers-in-law, Patrick and Edward Carmichael, and Patrick McRae. Three sisters-in-law, Jennifer, Patricia, and Janet Carmichael.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Irene, two sisters, Icylene and Yvonne, and brother, Joseph.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:30 pm, Friday, March 19 ^th at Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast, 220 Palm Coast Pkwy SW, Palm Coast, Florida 32137. Pastor Dr. Kevin James will officiate.  Due to COVID, there is limited capacity and the service will be live-streamed.  We encourage all to attend the service, via live-stream.  If you were unable to view the live-stream you may now view it here.
