Henry Lyn Scholz, 68 , a resident of Port Orange, Florida died Tuesday August 9th at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach. Lyn was born to Henry F. and Flora Belle Scholz ( Canine ) on January 14, 1948 in Daytona Beach. Being born and raised in Daytona, Lyn naturally became a fan of NASCAR, which may have led to his career in auto mechanics. Lyn spent many years working in the auto industry and a good part of that locally with both Goodyear and Firestone. Lyn also was an avid fisherman and would take advantage of any free time to pursue his hobby. Though he loved both NASCAR and fishing, he got his greatest satisfaction from his family, especially taking the grand kids for slurpees. Lyn will be missed by many and fondly remembered by his wife, Gloria, his bother Terry, and his sister Coleen Foster. Others left to cherish Lyn's memory include his daughters Krystian Scholz, Theresa Hobbs, Missy Beverlin, Beth Allman, Denise McCann, Candi, Tammi and Dori, his son David Scholz and his 14 grand-children and 8 great grand-children. A service will be held for Lyn on Friday, August 12th at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona beginning at 12 p.m. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
