Henry E. Kress 94 of Port Orange passed away on Tuesday February 17 2009. A funeral service in his honor will be held on Friday February 20 2009; 1:00 PM at the Daytona Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home with Pastor Sonny Gallman officiating followed by an interment at Daytona Memorial Park. A visitation will be held today Feb. 19 2008 for 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Mr. Kress was born in Winnipeg Canada and was a Daytona Beach area resident for over 70 years. Through good times and bad his family enjoyed his sense of humor and wonderful disposition. He will be missed by many. Henry was employed by the National Cash Register Co. and was the first vice president of the International Cash Register Co. until his retirement. He will best be remembered for having served his community faithfully. He was a lifetime member of the Lions Club and a long standing member of the Union Congregation al Church of Holly Hill enjoyed traveling camping and "Driving the blues away". He also spent many years extending his services to the Halifax Hospital Auxiliary. He is survived by his wife Barbara 3 daughters; Jan Aslami Linda (Denny) Matthews daughter-in-law Linda (Walter) Gatton 3 daughters by marriage;Shari (Edward) Daugs Teresa (Thomas) Dean and Tina (Mike) Rabren 6 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren 10 great grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Doris his wife of 40 years a son Kenneth and a sister; Ester Dillinger. The family asked that in lieu of flowers donation be made in his honor to Union Congregational Church 1050 Daytona Ave Daytona Beach 32114.
