Obituary

Henry Calvin Crews, 71, of Orange City, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025. Born on March 24, 1954, in Joliet, Illinois, to Herman and Ada (McCollum) Crews, Henry lived a life filled with curiosity, creativity, and deep love for his family.

A proud graduate in computer science, Henry built his career as a talented technical writer and engineer. Yet, it was his passions outside of work that truly reflected his spirit, his love for music, his knack for storytelling, and his playful hobby of making moonshine.

Above all, Henry was a devoted husband to Sharon, and a loving father to Dawn, Jimmy, Robbie, and Heather. Nothing brought him greater joy than being "Grandpa" to his ten grandchildren, each of whom he adored, encouraged, and celebrated with immense pride.

Henry was preceded in death by his father, Herman; his mother, Ada; and his stepfather, Ewing.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon Crews; his children, Dawn (Dan), Jimmy, Robbie, Heather (Bill), and Roberto; his grandchildren, Cody, Kailey, Erika, Alexis, Alex Diaz, Anthony, Kathryn, Haidyn, Trista, and Jaxtyn Henry; his brothers, HD and Jerry; his sisters, Jackie and Judy; and many nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

A celebration of Henry's life will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Magnolia Club Recreational Center, 175 Countryside Drive, Orange City, FL 32763.

Henry will be remembered for his warm smile, quick wit, and the love he poured into everyone around him, a man who found joy in simple moments and laughter in every day.
