Helen H. Susky

A graveside Memorial Service for Helen H. Susky 81 of DeLeon Springs and Ormond Beach will be held at the convenience of the family in the Scattering Garden of Daytona Memorial Park. Arrangements are with Lohman Funeral Home Ormond Beach. Helen died Friday October 26 2007 in DeLeon Springs. Surviving her are her husband John a son William Lee Susky Benton AR two grandchildren Andrew Susky and Jenifer Susky both of Benton AR and a special friend and caregiver Katrina Chasteen DeLeon Springs. She was predeceased by a son John David Susky and three brothers Jack Julian and Jim. Helen was born November 7 1925 in Philadelphia PA. The daughter of Julian and Grace Reynolds Hodgskin. She was an employee of Bell South Telephone Company. Helen then attended Oklahoma State where she received her Masters Degree in Psychology. While at the school Helen was Secretary of the ROTC program. In 1945 she married John E. Susky. Helen founded the Misdemeanor Program in Paine County OK. This program kept many people from becoming Felons and was very successful. She was a wonderful wife and a loving mother and will be missed by all.
