Helen E. Rizzi age 81 of Port Orange passed away on Saturday November 28 2009. A funeral mass in her honor will take place on Wednesday December 2 2009; 12:00 PM at the Church of the Epiphany 201 Lafayette St. Port Orange FL Fr. Michael Giglio officiating. Interment will follow at Daytona Memorial Park. The family will receive guest on Tuesday December 1 5:00 - 7:00 at the Daytona Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home.
Helen was born in Chester Vermont to Ralph and Bertha Bates. She was a woman of many talents and careers but she dedicated her life as a devoted wife to her military husband and mother to her six children. She traveled in many circles and to various places in the world to discover and teach her children all the world has to offer. She was a proud and active member of the P.O.R.T and Epiphany Catholic Church and will best be remembered as a tenacious strong feisty loving woman who was a great cook and enjoyed playing bingo cards and "the slots."
