Helen Paraskevas

January 7, 1929 ~ December 25, 2021

Helen Paraskevas passed away peacefully on December 25 ^th at age 92. She was born in Staten Island, NY and worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance in NYC for 17 years until she married her husband Nick in 1963.

In 1972, they moved their young family to Daytona Beach. In 1978, she and Nick purchased a gift shop on Atlantic Ave. in Daytona Beach Shores. Helen was a very strong and loving woman and took care of her family after the passing of her husband in 1979 and ran their gift shop for 16 years.

She is a member of the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Daytona Beach and was a member of the St Barbara's Philoptochos Society.

She is survived by her loving children and their spouses: Maria Miller and husband Mike (Orlando), and Thomas Paraskevas and wife Stacie (Port Orange), as well as many nieces and nephew's. She was preceded in death by her husband Nick, and sisters Fannie Proskefalas and Louise Granata.

A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, December 30, 2021 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Daytona Beach with Father Joseph Samaan. Interment will follow at Daytona Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends and conduct a Trisagion service Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the Ormond Chapel of Lohman Funeral Homes from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to: St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church or St Jude Children's Research Hospital
