Ormond Beach- Helen H. McMunn 92 of Ormond Beach Florida beloved mother grandmother wife and friend to many died on July 18 2006. She was born and raised in Pittsburgh PA. Helen graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1936 and worked as a social worker. In 1938 she married William M. McMunn. They had an extraordinarily close and loving marriage that survived the tragic death of two of their children Judy and Tommy. After her husband?s early and sudden death in 1974 she moved to Winter Park Florida to be closer to her remaining son William. Helen loved to travel and enjoyed visiting many friends and family scattered around the world. In 1993 Helen forsook her network of friends in Winter Park to moved to Ormond Beach to be closer to her son and her three grandchildren all of which were the most important part of her life. During the last several years she had been battled dementia but despite this she lived a long happy life charming family and friends with her engaging personality. She was preceded in death by her husband William Bill three brothers Jack Jim and Bill her son Tommy and daughter Judy. Survivors include her son William Bill and his wife Linda Jackson McMunn of Ormond Beach three grandchildren Carli Elizabeth of Ormond Beach and Judy of Jacksonville two step grandchildren Martin and Lauri Jackson of Ormond Beach her sister Tink Mallon of Pittsburgh PA and two special care givers during the last six years of her illness Lee Roper and Sunday Reiland. Helen always looked for the good in all people and will long be remembered for her smile charm and the kindness she showed to others.
