Helen F. Holland 90 of Ormond Beach Florida passed away on April 20 2012. A private interment will be held at Houston National Cemetery. Helens family will also hold a Memorial Service in South Carolina at a later date. All arrangements are under careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond 733 W. Granada Avenue Ormond Beach FL. Helen was born and raised in Texas. In 1942 she married Burdette Townsend Sr. Helen became a proud US Military wife. She spent her time as the perfect housewife entertaining and hosting many gatherings including the chief of staff. Helen and Burdette traveled the world together upon his retirement from the military they settled into Texas. In 1985 with the passing of Burdette Helen moved to South Carolina then to Florida 2 years ago. Helen was an active member of the Church of Christ Holly Hill attending service every Sunday. She will be remembered for her love of gardening knitting cross-stitching rock collecting and love of pecans. Helen lived her life with the utmost elegance she was an elegant lady. For all that knew her remember her for her nurturing and compassionate way that she lived her life. Helen was preceded in death in 1985 by her beloved husband Burdette Townsend Sr. She is survived by her 2 sons Burdette Townsend Jr. and his wife Janet of Ormond Beach and Gregory B. Townsend and his wife Carol of Las Vegas. Helen was also the loving grandmother of 5 grandchildren; Eddie Michael Daniel Todd and Amanda 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
