Helen M. Godbey of Deland FL died peacefully in her sleep on Friday January 06 2012. A memorial service in her honor will be held on Saturday Jan. 21 4:00 PM at the Deland Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Homes with a memory gathering at the Oaks Clubhouse. Helen was born in St. Albans W. Va to Ira C. and Dona A. Johnson. She was a former resident of New Smyrna Beach FL and College Arms in Deland. She was a long time employee of Little Drug Co. NSB and is retired from Eckerd Drugs. Her biggest joy in life was her children grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was proud of each and every one of them and loved to brag about them to anyone who would listen. She never met a stranger and talked to everyone. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years John Q. Godbey Jr. and is survived by her brother James C. Johnson Deland a son John Q. (Barbara) Godbey III NSB and her daughter Linda (Robert) G. Roof Deland. Her memory will be cherished by her five granddaughters; Kim (Jon) Rodeffer Pam (Randy) Melton Patty Greene Becky (Jason) Godbey-Lioi and Rachel Burger her grandson J. Steven (Lisa) Ogram and her eleven great grandchildren who were the delight of her life.
