Helen Geneva Blanks (10/4/1029-11/20/2014): Beloved wife and mother.

We always believed that heaven was missing an angel, but can now report, that as of 20, November 2014, that position has been filled.

Helen was the beloved wife for 67 years of Captain Al Blanks, USN (retired). She held down the home front during his 34 years naval service and always did so in her caring and loving fashion. She raised three children: Mark, David, and Julie.

Helen is survived by her brother, Carl Stevens (NC), as well as her husband, Al Blanks (FL) and children David (FL) and Julie Miller (VA). Her son, Mark (FL), pre-deceased her in March 2014. Helen has five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. We were blessed to have her and she will be greatly missed.

Helen was a resident of Palm Coast, FL since May 1976, and a member of Christ Lutheran Church. Cremation and funeral arrangements are by Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast. Memorial services are to be decided and interment at Jacksonville National Cemetery at a date to be specified. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of personal choice.
