Mrs. Hazeley Adella Davidson, 76, of Palm Coast peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, August 10, 2014.
A Funeral Service in her honor will be held Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Palm Coast United Methodist Church at 10:00 am. Family welcomes friends to begin gathering at 9:30 am. Burial will immediately follow the service at Daytona Memorial Park.
Hazeley was born in Chatham, St. James, Jamaica. In Jamaica, she met and married her husband Alfred. Hazeley and Alfred moved to New York, where she graduated from Saint Joseph's College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Hazeley worked 32 years as a Registered Nurse in the maternity ward of Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York. She found assisting mothers in the birthing process to be especially rewarding. Hazeley retired from her stellar career in 2002.
Hazeley, affectionately known as "Mom" and "My Loving Wife" loved to cook, shop, and garden. She also had an affection for sculptures of birds, of which she gathered a large collection. Hazeley and Alfred moved to Palm Coast in 2002. They became faithful members of Palm Coast United Methodist Church.
Hazeley leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 45 years, Alfred Davidson; her son MenSa Ankh Maa of Clinton, Maryland (Monica); her daughters Cheryl Davidson of New York, New York, and Andrea Davidson-Graves of Palm Coast, Florida (Samuel); her brother Leo Chambers of Montclair, New Jersey (Eglin); her sisters Neva Messias (Norman) and Joyce Walker both of Orlando, Florida; brother-in-laws John Davidson, Elijah Davidson; sister-in-law Irene Lawrence; two Grandchildren, Genesis and Makeda; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
