Hazel Marie Pruitt 84 of 1703 Magnolia Drive died July 14 2004 at Palos Hospital in Palos Hills IL while visiting family. A gathering of friends and family will be at Baggett and Summers Funeral Home 736 S. Beach St. on Friday July 23 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service Saturday July 24 at 10:00 a.m. Hazel was born in Covington Tennessee to Ernest and Janieva Bringle on November 17 1919. She met and married Ben F. Pruitt and they and their children moved to Chicago IL and later settled in Daytona Beach FL. Haze was an amazing mother of eleven children eight sons and three daughters. Hazel was treasured by her 27 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Hazel''''s warmth and love had no boundaries when it came to family or friends. Hazel worked as a cook for the Daytona Beach Golf and Country club and then later managed the Trails Racquet Club restaurant. Hazel had many passions including; cooking gardening reading laughing with friends and family. She also loved her dog Pepper. Hazel will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
