Hazel Patrick Dauksis, 89, of Ponce Inlet, FL., formerly of Swoyersville and Shickshinny Lake, PA. passed away peacefully at Brookdale ALF on Friday, 9/7/2018. She was born in Leicester, England to Frank and Susan Dorothy Patrick. She emigrated from England to the U.S. in 1947 and became a U.S. Citizen in 1953. She worked for Sarah Coventry Jewelry Co. for 30 years, eventually becoming the District Manager for northeastern PA. While in PA., she was co-founder of the Wyoming Valley Branch of the British American Club. After moving to Ponce Inlet in 1987 with her husband Bill, she continued to pursue her love of community activity serving as a charter Member of the Ponce Inlet Lions Club, a member of Ponce Inlet Women's and Garden Clubs, and serving on the Board of Trustees of the Ponce Inlet Community Center where for several years, she also made many brides happy by directing their weddings and receptions. She was Ponce Inlet Citizen of the Year in 1998 and received a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016. She is predeceased by her parents, her two beloved brothers: Leonard and Kenneth Patrick; her husbands: William McCormick, Alfred Lumbis, and William Dauksis; and by her son Alfred Lumbis Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia McLean (Robert) of Ponce Inlet, FL., daughter in law, Susan Dauksis of Dallas, PA., grandsons A. Peter Lumbis, III (Lisa) of Long Beach, CA., and Ryan Dauksis (Amy) of Lafayette Hill, PA, granddaughters Patricia O'Connell (Michael) of Northborough, MA., Kristie McLean of Boston, MA., and Kitty Palmer (Bradley) of Lafayette, GA., several great-grand children and nephews. In keeping with her love for community and her "Shadow", memorial donations may be made to the Lions of Ponce Inlet and the Paws for Patriots program. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 6th, 2018 from 1:00pm-3:30pm at Lohman Funeral Home, 1201 Dunlawton Avenue, Port Orange, FL. with a Service to follow starting at 3:30 pm.
