Harry Clifford, 92, of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away after a period of declining health on Friday, May 8, 2026. He was born on November 11, 1933, in Manhattan, New York and worked his career in Civil Service. His true passions were in his home life, and Jean lovingly tolerated his “new ideas”. Harry was a homesteader in New York and tended to a large fruitful garden that served his family and members of the community. He cared for and kept animals like chickens, sheep, cattle, geese, and bees. His creative gardening skills were utilized as he discovered that Florida was his “happy place.” In Florida he was able to grow many things and let his gardening passion and creativity run wild. Harry was surrounded by neighbors who also saw his creativity in the garden. From fruit trees, to bees, to ducks, the neighbors saw it all. Being of an older generation, Harry was always resourceful. He even decided to convert his unused swimming pool to a fish nursery where he raised tilapia. As his health declined, he traveled back and forth from Florida to New York – always planning next season and planting new fruit trees he didn’t have space for.

He is predeceased in death by his loving wife, Jean Clifford and son, Dennis Clifford. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Biro (husband, Andrew Biro); granddaughter, Joy Bruni (husband, Amedeo Bruni); grandson, Jeff Clifford (wife, Linda Clifford); granddaughter, Jennifer Stickles (husband, Rob Stickles); grandson, Allan Clifford (partner, Jacolyn Lorengo; grandson, Brian Clifford; grandson, David Clifford (wife, Deanna Clifford); granddaughter, Sherrie Waizenegger (partner, Chis Clark); grandson, Mark Waizenegger (wife, Autumn Waizenegger); granddaughter, Shannon Biro; grandson, Shaun Biro (wife, Brandi Biro); granddaughter, Samantha Biro; grandson, Andrew Biro; daughter-in-law, Karen Gambon (partner, Emmit); numerous beloved great grandchildren; dear neighbors friends, Sue and Cindy, Linda, Liz, James and Karen; and other extended family and friends.

Services will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Gentiva Hospice who supported him during difficult days at Gentiva Foundation The family would like to give special thanks to those that came to visit and support Harry during his illness; your time meant the world to him.
