Harold David Smoak 90 of New Smyrna Beach died February 22 2009. He was born in Walterboro South Carolina on June 2 1918 to Lawrence Ivey and Mary Lucille Glover Smoak. Learning to fly at 18 was the beginning of his love of flying. After 6 years as a flight instructor he joined ATC where he flew in China Burma and India. He later became a pilot for National Airlines for nearly 30 years. He is survived by his wife Eugenia of 62 years; daughters Dr. Mary Johnston of Seneca South Carolina Sally (James) Hamilton of Younges Island South Carolina; son Harold Smoak Jr. of Orlando Florida; sister Doris Bone of Charleston South Carolina; grandchildren Preston David Michael and Mary Kathryn Johnston and Jamie Hamilton. He will be dearly missed.
