Harold I. Nirdlinger, 87 of Deland Florida passed away Saturday, January 18, 2014. A memorial service for Harold will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, January 31, 2014 at Lohman Funeral Home Deland, at 935 E. New York Ave, Deland, FL.

Harold was a devoted husband of 41 years to Dione Nirdlinger. He was a beloved father to five sons Ronnie, Brian, Donald, Robert, and Thomas Nirdlinger. He was an amazing grandfather to Christopher, Nichelle, Alyssa, Melanie, Nickole, Jenesis, and the rest of his grandchildren. He will be missed deeply by his pets, Chuck the poodle, and Ralph the weiner. He was an honored veteran, who served in the Big Red One Battalion in WWII. He was born to the late George and Olga Nirdlinger of Jersey City, NJ. He also was preceded in death to his brothers Edwin and Harvey Nirdlinger.

In New Jersey he worked on the Pennsylvania Railroad, and was a semi-truck driver for Sears and Roebucks. In 1971 he moved to Deland, FL and worked at Sherwood Medical for 10 years where he then retired. He was a tough man on those he loved, and it was because he had a heart of gold. He enjoyed fishing, good comedy, and reading. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him, until we see him again.
