Harold P. Creticos Funeral Services for Harold P. Creticos age 84 who passed away Saturday August 28th at FL Hospital-Ormond Memorial will be held Tuesday Aug. 31st at 11:00am at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. His family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00pm on Monday August 31st at Lohman Ormond Funeral Home and invite you to join them during the trisagion prayer service at 7pm. Harold was born Sept. 14 1919 in Charleston South Carolina and moved to this area in 1958. A graduate in education of the College of Charleston Harold was an accomplished classical violist and performed with the Charleston Symphony. He was fluent in Greek Latin and Spanish and taught these languages as well as history. He retired from teaching in 1984 after 17 years at Mainland High School. He was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church the VIP Club and the Order of AHEPA. He contributed monthly inspirational articles for the Church newsletter The Messenger. He loved classical and religious music and enjoyed public speaking on a variety of subjects including politics. Affectionately known as Harry he loved a good game of poker and a great joke. He was a Mason and a former member of the Lions Club. He was a devoted father and grandfather who loved family outings be it dinner or Disney. He is survived by his wife Lula his daughter Pamela and son in law Nicholas Klonaris of Nassau Bahamas; his daughter Victoria and son in law Harold Kaniaris of Ormond Beach FL; his son Harold and daughter in law Paula Creticos of Ormond Beach FL; his 8 grandchildren Tara Holcombe Mike Klonaris; Elias Nicholas and Alexandra Kaniaris; Patrick Alesia and Gabrielle Creticos; his sister Anna Mamalakis of Savannah GA; his two brothers Dr. Angelo Creticos of Chicago IL and Socrates Creticos of Columbia SC. Memorial donations may be made in Harold?s memory to the AHEPA Scholarship Fund 129 N. Halifax Dr. Daytona Beach FL 32118.
