Harold Franklin Coalson, a Daytona Beach Shores resident, passed away Friday,Aug. 12 at the age of 86.

Born in Taylorsville, GA on December 4, 1929, he was the son of Hubert Fred Coalson and Lora Christine Moore. He served in the US Navy for a brief time in 1948-4949. He was a member of the First Baptist Daytona Beach, FL, a devout Christian, and an ordained deacon. Among Harold's leadership responsibilities were Sunday school teacher, and Superintendent of Sunday Schools at First Baptist Church of Fort Oglethorpe, GA Baptist Church.

Harold is survived by his wife, Jennifer Hunter, Ireland, and two daughters: Camilla Anne Coalson, Daytona Beach Shores, FL and Mary Jo Coalson Berkes, Hilton Head, SC. Also, he is survived by three grandsons and one granddaughter: William U.Hyden HI, Okatie, SC, Joseph Franklin Hyden, Port Orange, FL, Dr. William L. Berkes (Billy) of Charleston, SC., and Bonnie Anne Berkes Levkoff, Columbia, SC. Harold's great grand-children helped keep the sparkle in his eyes. They include: Alyssa Anne Ryden, age 11; Adalynn Todd Hyden, age 18 months; and twin boys George Grayson and William Hudson Levkoff, age 21 months. Grandchildren
lovingly referred to him as DaddyHarold. He is also survived by granddaughterlaws Christy Gallahugh Hyden and grandsonin-law George Julian Levkoff, Jr. Harold is also survived by a sister, Helen Christine Coalson Byars, Rome, GA, and her children: William, Christine, and Jane and their wivesand spouses, as well as their children and grand-children, Rome, GA. Harold was predeceased by wife Jo Anne Wadsworth, Rome, GA and wife Pasty (Pat) Hamilton, Chattanooga, TN.

Harold built a reputable Electrical Contracting business, Coalson Electric, in Chattanooga, TN, prior to retirement. Upon retirement he invested in condominiums in the Peck Plaza, and served as president of the board of directors there for several years. Harold's favorite place to visit was Hawaii. Although he and his wife,
Jennifer, traveled in Europe, including vacationing in the Rivera, his favorite vacation place was Hawaii.

Immediate family members who stayed by Harold's bedside until the end had a family Memorial service on August 13, at the Halifax Hospice Care Center, led by Dr. Devon Jones, Chaplain. A formal service for
both family and friends will be held at the Daytona Memorial Chapel on Bellevue Ave. in Daytona Beach on August 27 at 11 a.m. It will be officiated by Harold's nephew William Byars, Rome GA. A Graveside Service will be held Sept. 18 at 2:30 p.m. at Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park, 724 Hogan Road, Rossville, GA 30741.
