Hal H. Gerow, 74 of Daytona Beach Shores, longtime Rotarian and proprietor of Rose Villa Restaurant passed away unexpectedly on August 30, 2017. He was born in Corwall, NY, graduated from Washingtonville High School and received his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Syracuse University. He served with the Army Corps of Engineers in Schweitzingen Germany as a Company Commander during the Vietnam War. He had his own Landscape Architecture Firm in Saratoga Springs, NY for 30 years and retired to Florida in 2006. He was an active and dedicated Rotarian, a Paul Harris Fellow, former District Governor, Rotary Foundation major donor and a member of the newly chartered downtown Ormond Beach Club.

A friend to all, Hal was a lifelong volunteer, a gardener, a traveler, a die hard New York Yankees fan and a golfer with many golf buddies from New Hampshire to New Smyrna Beach.

Hal was predeceased by his sister Anita Marie, mother Clara Hookey, father Hallock, and step father Kenneth Johnson. He is survived by his wife Cindy Stowell, son Mitchell Hallock, daughter Erin Anita and her partner Lindsey Samuelson, Bolivian son Alan Campbell and his family. In addition, he leaves his sister Elsa Jean Cameron, her husband Phil and sons Philip and Daniel, his brother Ken Johnson, wife Beverly, their daughter Kristen, son Eric and their families.

There will be a celebration of life reception at Lohman Funeral Home, 733 W. Granada Boulevard, Ormond Beach on Tuesday, September 5th from 11-1pm followed by a casual gathering at Rose Villa, 43 W. Granada Boulevard.

A memorial service will be held later this month in Washingtonville, NY.
