Gwendolyn M. Pounds 85 of Daytona Beach passed away Sunday September 5th 2011. A private graveside service will be held at Daytona Memorial Park Cemetery. She is preceded in death and will be laid to rest by her beloved husband Earl J. Pounds Jr. and son Carl R. Pounds.

Gwendolyn was born in Daytona Beach Florida on September 14 1925. Gwen was a member of the Maley-Jackson family one of Daytona's pioneering families. She was a graduate of Mainland High School and a member on the first cheerleading squads the school had. Gwen was a devoted wife loving mother and wonderful friend. She enjoyed spending time with family traveling and quilting. She was a devoted parishioner of the First Christian Church of Daytona Beach when she could attend.

Survivors include her beloved children Earl J. Pounds III and wife Carol Pounds Gregory A. Pounds and wife Donna Pounds Jeanmarie Pounds grandchildren Jamie Pounds Nikki and husband Jonathan Kearn and Natalie Pounds. She also leaves behind Cousins Fred Maley Susan and husband Dennis Hall.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Gwen's honor to S.E Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia Flagler at 4140 South Ridgewood Edgewater FL 32141.
