Gustave "Gus" VanDenBerg , 82, of Palm Coast, Florida passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2018.  He was born in Hackensack, New Jersey on August 21, 1935, and resided in Hawthorne, New Jersey, prior to moving to Florida.  Gus married Mary Ann VanDyk, and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage together.

Gus retired from both Coca Cola Bottling Company and also Manatee County Transit.  He also worked for Flagler County Transit.  In addition, Gus enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of both the Hawthorne (NJ) Gun Club as well as the N.R.A.

Gus is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; his son, Gustave (Adla), his daughter Patty (George), his son John (Amanda); six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; his brother John, his sister AdaMae, and his sister Jeanne.  Gus was predeceased by his brother William and his sister Darlene.

A Visitation with the family of Gus VanDenBerg will be held from 9:00 a.m until 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast, 220 Palm Coast Parkway, SW, in Palm Coast, Florida.  The Funeral Service for Gus VanDenBerg will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2018 in The Chapel at Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast, and will be followed by a procession to Jacksonville National Cemetery for interment. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gus' name to your local Hospice would be most appreciated.
