A Memorial Service for Gustave Carbonell who passed away on Saturday December 23 2006 at his residence will be held at 10:00am Monday December 25 2006 at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond 733 W. Granada Blvd Ormond Beach. Born on January 10 1920 in Barnquillia Colombia South America Mr. Carbonell was sent to New York NY at the age of 15 by his parents who were dignitaries serving as ambassadors to the United Nations. He was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Carbonell was schooled at the prestigious LaSalle Military Academy. He earned several degrees in international business and maritime law. He also attended the Julliard School of Music New York NY where he received a teaching degree in classical violin. Mr. Carbonell's main profession was international shipping with the Grand Colombian Steamship Lines located at the World Trade Center in New York City. Mr. Carbonell retired and moved to Florida in 1970 and has resided here ever since. He was a professional photographer. He also had many hobbies. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Renee Carbonell; eight children: Amira Hourigan (Brad) Gustave Carbonell JR Renee Palumbo Richard Carbonell (Jacqueline) Roderick Carbonell (Lori) Peter Carbonell Joseph Carbonell and Robert Carbonell. Mr. Carbonell is also survived by 24 grandchildren 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter and his loving pets.
