Gustav Herbert Nelson 80 of Palm Coast Fl passed away January 1 2011 Flagler Memorial Hospital Palm Coast. A Memorial service will be held on January 7 2011 at 1:00 pm at The Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast 220 Palm Coast Pkwy. SW. Herbert was born in New Jersey lived in Vero Beach FL for 20 years before moving to Palm coast 10 years ago. Herbert started sweeping floors at the American Can Company and worked his way up to Supervisor retiring in the 1980's. He had a passion for making wooden clocks and will be remembered for his love of fishing and especially the ocean. Herbert served in the United States Marine Corps and was the Commander of Marine's American Legion in Vero Beach FL. He was also the President of the Honor Guard of the Little White House in Key West Fl.Herbert was preceded in death by his companion of 63 years and beloved wife of 58 years June Nelson in 2009 and one brother Donald. He is survived by his children Charlotte Kent and her husband Michael of South Carolina Susan Mokowski of Florida Linda Pustek of Indiana Gale Smith of South Carolina Stephen James Nelson of Pennsylvania Barbara Diamond and her husband William of Pennsylvania and Herbert John Nelson and his wife Sue of Indiana. one sister Ruth Haug of New Jersey and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
