Gunther G. Wackerman 79 of Daytona Beach Shores passed away on October 3 2012. The family will receive friends for a viewing on Sunday October 7 at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona between the hours of 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. 1423 Bellevue Ave Daytona Beach. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday October 8 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church 724 Big Tree Road South Daytona FL. Burial services will immediately follow at Daytona Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors.
Gunther was born on April 2 1933 in Oak Park Illinois to the late Elisabeth and Gustaf Wackerman. Mr. Wackerman served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He graduated from The University of Illinois in 1959 and received a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Gunther was owner of Comtron manufacturer of cell phone parts and antennas in Free Hold New Jersey. He was an avid motorcyclist collector target shooter and photographer. Gunther was known for his quick wit sharp tongue and great scene of humor.
He is preceded in death by his parents Gustaf and Elisabeth Wackerman and brother Werner Wackerman.
Survivors included his beloved wife Vera L. Wackerman children; Susan (Anthony) DiMeglio John (Belkys) Wackerman Leslie Wackerman; grandchildren Maxwell Samantha Jonathan Nicholas Michael Dena Danielle Anthony Jr. and Deborah.
